I don't understand why you want to straighten your long curly hair. I have curly hair myself. I straighten my hair very seldom only when the weather is dry. Short curly hair is cute, too. If you want to straighten your hair, try relaxer or a maxiglide. The curly hair does shrink when it dries. Victoria Beckham's hair is real short. That means you have to keep your short hair straight all the time; otherwise, your curly hair will be too short if not straighten. The best solution is to talk with a professional hairstylist about the hair colorings and a new hairstyle.

I really don't know why you would want a straight short hairstyle. It's not very versatile, and it's hard to pull off. Long, curly hair is lovely. Why not just layer it and straighten it every now and then? Maybe highlight it too?

Dying dark brown hair involves bleaching. Not a pretty process, guaranteed to dry it out.

Sure you can! But if your hair is naturally curly then you will be spending a LOT more time on your hair to get the look you want. Also need to remember that if you go swimming or it is humid outside then your hair will kink back up if its naturally curly. If you won't mind it being short and curly during those times then go for it! You can also put a permanent straightner in it (just use a regular perm and while your hair is covered with the solution repeatedly comb or brush through it to make it completely straight). It really just depends on how much you wanna put into your new look -- good luck! R

Yes, it's definately possible. But for the dying part, I would suggest having that professionally done. Especially since you have a specific hair color in mind, the boxes can turn out wrong. For example, my friend bought a box of really blond hair color, and she had a dirty blond hair color, and when she died it, it turned out a dark brown. So you can't always trust those things.

For the straightening part, they have a process that will keep your hair straight. It's basically the opposite of a perm. Talk to your hair dresser about it though.

its very hard tog et curly hair unless u fake it and get it permed....people pay TUNS of money to get curly hair....trust me, ive had it for 17 years of my life, its wonderful because when u go to dances or what ever u dont have to worry aout curling it...

dont cut it short unless u get a reverse perm and have it totaly permanantly straight.

and on the dying side....

go fo it...there are tuns of moistureizers out there to help your hair from becoming dryed out and stuff. leave in conditioners, hot oil treatments (can also be store baught) so go for the hair colouring, but i would think about getting it cut and shorted to that length ;)

wellllll...I'd say you should start out by dying your hair. Dye it the color you want and try to get used to it. If you like it, move to step 2. Cut your hair the way you want it. If you dont like it, try straightening it. You'll have to straighten it everymorning/day depending on when you do you hair/makeup. Make sure you dont speed things because you cant do anything about it once its dyed and cut!

You need to go to a reputable salon and have them chemically straighten your hair, however, it may not last still. I have wavy hair and I have gotten a reversed perm twice, it doesnt take out all the curl, but it helps. I do have to straighten my hair every day. Its not too short tho, its pass my ears. See if you can find a website that shows hair styles and with your face type what you would look like. Make sure you get a good flat iron, not one from walmart or a place like that, but a place that sells salon products. You want a ceramic style. Good luck.

ok well i have curly hair and i wake uo hree minutes before i have to leave i know crazy but i put my hair in braids like two like you know not on the side of my head normal and i wake up and straighten it not all the way of course but you can put it up in a pony tail and then just straighten it or braids work really well the little one like in teh beginining of this novel or gather all your hair up on top of yor head like highthen you act like you are going to put it up in a pony tail but stop half way on the first time you put your hair through and so its like ill put a video on youtube the username is juicygirl908 comment as soon as you see it so iccan remove it!

i went threw that i have the same type of hair

and this is what i do to fix it

put a few squirts of John Frieda collection Fizz-ease

u can can buy it at Wallmart and it cost up to $5

then add some hair spary any cinde and spray it in ur hand the rub it ther ur hair it gets rid of the friz a hole lot and after brush it a few times then add add some more hair spary to it one more time by spraying it in ur hand and rubbing it threw

it only takes about 5 mins to do it

but if u have more time do the some thing with the hair spray and frizz stuff and then straghten it

this may take up to 1/2 hour

but it realy works trust me i do it every day

depending on how long your hair is you can get long bangs cut a Little past your nose, parted in the side. see if you can keep your hair natural if you can go get it deep conditioned, roller set and blown out if you can. if you really want it straight relax it but try to keep it conditioned

i like to do a poof. Put your hair in a low poney tail and then take a small amount of hair from the front. Pin the hiar so that it is not tight against your head. It's comfy and stylish. i also think braids are really cute.

Look in the hair accessory aisle of your favorite store. Get some clips, pony tail holders, bobby pins and what ever else strikes your fancy. Just by checking out what is in the store you'll get lots of ideas. My hair is just shoulder length, but I have this cool comb that I got at Kmart that you slide into a french twist, Voila! Another is a pretty barrett that has a wooden stick though it that I put the back of my hair up with. Just secure it with a clear ponytail holder, flip the ponytail up and secure it in place with the barrett with the ends sticking up looking kinda messy. Just check out the accessories and you get lots of ideas! ;-)

I have long hair. I was given a hair tool called ponyflip you put your hair in a ponytail and snap it around your hair and pull back through pony and it makes a pretty hair style. I also put my hair in a ponytail, plait, it wrap the end around the top of the pony then secure the rest with pins. I have tied ribbon around a ponytail and plaited the ends with the hair. My neice curled my hair for me and it didn't take long but then my hair isnt thick anymore, she used (dont know the name, they came from Avon) bendy long things, she wrapped my hair around them and folded the ends towards the middle, then sprayed my hair with styling moose, it turned out really good.

i know exactly what ur going through because i am right now too. i want to grow my hair out long, but everytime i do, i try and style it and straighten it and it just frizzes up and looks dry. then i decided to cut it and it looks healthier and i could straighten it perfectly without it drying up. i am going to get it cut again because it was easiest for me. whatever style makes you comfortable and happy and takes the least amount of time to fix, i say go with it !

I'd like to keep the length. The underside is very soft and healthy. The top where the sun hits it is fried. I'm mean its so bad it doesnt even curl. It looks like a halloween wig. Without a photo, it's impossible to say. I wouldn't spend a lot of money on chemical treatments and so on... curly hair is coming back in style, and it is super-sexy. If you want shorter hair, cut it. It's all up to you, girl!

mine was like that for a while, but i got it cut to just above mid-back length and had a load of layers put in, then i had my bangs cut to just above my top lip adn i side swept them for a while and it looked good. it all depends on what kinda of hair you have though. if its thick, course, and straight like mine was, then that will work good, as would wavy, fine hair. as for thin, fine hair, get it to shoulder length and have the edges razored, with long layers... that looks good too.

i think u should get your hair cut to about the middle of your back. get shorter layers in the front (ask the hair salon to angle your hair). as for highlights, since u have dark hair, dont go to light for your hair. get honey colored highlights that are thin so that way itll look more natural. and the longer your hair is the more it costs to get it cut and colored. and if u dont want your hair to be the same length, ask for the six point star layering, and if the hairstylist doesnt know what that means, then they shouldnt be cutting your hair. i really hope your makeover goes well, but youll be beautiful anyway.

Hey! Just so you know, you're not the only one with the problem.

1) Hair half up-half down; you can also use some hair to frame your hair and/or use a curling iron to curl the hair

2) Ponytail! Nothing can go wrong, if it does, well wear your hair down for the day, there are 3 types of ponytails, High-has a lot of movement, Medium-little movement, Low- almost little to no movement.

3) If neither of those styles worked, accessorize! Headbands, Thin ones for when you are tying any part of your hair up, Wide ones when you are wearing your hair down, also using some wisps of hair to frame your face.

Hairstyles for long Hair?

I have checked out a couple of websites for styles for long hair and usually it just for hair that it about mid back. I'm 5'6 and my hair is a little past my butt. I usually wear my hair down because I don't have time to fix/ style my hair in the morning.

Does anyone have any suggestions for styles besides a bun or a simple braid? I also do not use mousse or gel in my hair and rarely curl it either. Pictures of websites would be great!

WEll, the night before you go to bed, curl your hair with a large barrel iron. Then, in the morning, make a cute side ponytail, your hair wont look as long,but it will look totally cute. Oh, and try a low ponytail, not like a really high one, you want the ponytail holder to touch your neck.

ummmm. maybe if you cut it a little bit, you could put it in a few braids after a shower, before you go to bed to make it wavier, if it isnt already. make sure they are tight, not too loose. take the braids out when you wake up, and part it on the side. thats what i do, at least..... it looks pretty cute!

You need to use curl cream. I use Pantene ProV. Physique also has a good one but it's a bit more expensive. Apply to fairly wet (never towel dried!) hair. Scrunch the excess water out with a towel (not too dry) and then scrunch a little more without the towel to get good curls. Don't use too much curl cream or your hair will get crunchy, but if you don't use enough, your hair will stay frizzy.

For hairstyles, you can do pigtail braids for something fun, or for a more professional or night look, take the top half of your hair, flip it up and secure with a clip, then let it hang back down. I do this a lot and like having my hair out of my face, but still down. Hope that helps! :)

i dont have any pics but if you want your hair like this you just need to get it cut in choppy layers, take a blowdryer and a matte piecing gel and swoop it out like that.

curl it then clip it up with strands let down, bit of a messed up do, always looks good, try and clip it around your crown to give height also

put it up in a high pony tail clip it up and splay like a peacock feather and put on some sparkle and a couple of pretty slides you will look lovely

how about back combing it at the roots to give it more volume and you can then put some loose curls at the ends if you wanted.

add some blone highlights thats what i did and it made all the diffrence my curles look sexier now:) have exactyl same hair my advice dont ever strght it and use serum if ur going to blow dry

well i have that problem too! so what i do is i do like classic hair styles! like braids and (low)pigtails! but if you are looking for something more now! you could straiten your hair or try sleek and shine shampoos! well i hope i helped you! with your frizzy hair! good luck!

To get rid of the frizz dont blow dry your hair, or if you do use a diffuser. Also try using John Frieda's Frizz Ease, you can pick it up at Walmart and it does wonders! You can also try using a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, that may help tame the frizz. As for hair cuts I suggest not letting it get bulky and overwhelming by getting layers put in and having it thinned out, especially if you have thick hair.

Well, firrst defrizz it. You can find simple great working products. Like dove, floural essneces, and garniera fruit tese. Than try to wear you hair in a french braid, or a claw. (it looks really sophiscated) Maybe also toppse tail. ( you do your hair in a ponytail than slip it back through)

You are able to get these simple products really cheap at CVS or Rite Aid, and Ekcred.

Try doing a side pony tail looks really cute when you have a side bang and face framing. also if your hair is straight with no bangs use a 1 1/2 inch curling iron and do some loose curls throughout your hair. looks really cute.

pull it halfway back, two braids, one braid, (headbands are soo awesome. forever21 and icing have some cute ones!). you can also make cute headbands with ribbon! you can also try a messy bun. my hair goes down to my butt so what i do is twirl it a bunch of times until it coils around itself at my neck. then you take an elastic and stick it randomly in the bun (you might need two to make all the pieces stay). leave a few strands near your face to give a fresh, carefree look.

I'm getting a haircut in like 2 hours! I want a longer style that i can still put in a pony, my hair's a bit past my shoulders right now, and i want to keep it around there. I have a pretty big forehead, so i have bangs right now, but i was thinking i'd like to maybe grow them out but i don't know cause i do have a big forehead. 10 points to the best one.
