Long hair - short layers... how to style?

i have long thick hair, and recently got short layers. How should i style it? The hair dresser did it nicely, and when she did it I payed close attention, but its not turning out the way she did it (it curved around my face). Any other ideas on what and how I should handle my hair? What products if any?

I would need to know more about your hair style first.

If you straighten it, and you're wanting the layers to show up more, you should try blow drying your hair from under, in sections, like you're hanging upside down. Also use hair spray, and a mousse for some extra volume.

If you have wavy/curly hair though, it's probably going to be totally different. I don't have as much experience there. :(

depending on your face shape! Also hair stylist go to beaty school! I suggest either strething it with a iron or curling it with mosse! Or you can go onces a week so she can style it!

Mabey you can even ask her to teach you!

Start by pulling up the top half of you hair and working with the side pieces first . Blow the hair from the back to the front (towards your face)stretching the hair with your hand(apply some pressure kinda like your pulling it)until it is almost dry . now let down some hair from the top and do the same thing. It takes a while. then use the styling tool of your choice Iron , brush , straightener. I like the large barrelled hot air brush to complete the finished look and make it silky smooth.

You could use a curling iron and put loose curls throughoutyour hair. Just experiment with it until you find a couple hair styles you like best.
